Salomon Ultra Glide 2021 Preview
The Salomon Ultra Glide Trail Running Shoe will be available beginning June of 2021 in a Crystal Teal/Barrier Reef/Goji Berry colour for men and a Mecca Orange/Red Orange/Crystal Blue colour for women. Some new colourways will be added to the Ultra Glide range in July 2021. Update: It has now been suggested that the Ultra Glide will be availablein August.
Salomon’s status as a performance-driven brand and its history of making trail shoe ultra elites such as Kilian Jornet, Francois D’Haene, and Courtney Dauwalter, make a new release very interesting. It’s not just the big names they appeal to either; I’m also a huge fan. I own three pairs of Sense Ride 3, two pairs Of Speedcross 5, and one pair of the Trail PRO.
The Salomon Ultra Glide trail running shoe takes a performance-oriented design and adds a new level of long-distance comfort. Salomon Ultra Glide Trail Shoe
Weighing just 260 grams (pretty damn light to me), the Ultra Glide features an ultra-soft Energy Surge midsole and uses a new rocker shape to deliver a responsive terrain ride. What this means is you get at smooth-rolling feel as you run for hours on end.
To do this, Salomon footwear designers co-moulded a piece of foam into the forefoot and combined outsole geometry, to give better ground filter and protection against the uneven terrain. The designers carefully selected soft, light, comfy fabrics—from the snug feeling you get underfoot to the ultra-breathable mesh—to give the runner maximum comfort throughout the shoe.
Though the UltraGlide was created with a road running last that should appeal to a wider variety of runners, it still fits snugly due to the Sensifit™ wings and the Salomon Quicklace system. Therefore whether you run for 20 minutes or 20 hours, the Ultra Glide deliver you a secure ride.
A more cushioned midsole in the shoe delivers a softer sensation under foot. There is an absolute difference in feeling. The Ultra Glide will feel much softer than many of our trail running shoes, yet will still have that grip and forefoot ground protection we come to expect from Salomon..
